The timber we use for apex sheds, apart from the roof and floor has been pressure treated. This method is better and lasts longer than just dipping the wood in treatment. The main structure of the shed has also been treated this way, so it’ll last. It keeps away fungal decay and insect infestation for at least 10 years. We recommend you put a water-proof treatment on the external timber. This helps minimise the amount of moisture that the timber can absorb which will minimise the risk of the timber swelling.

Shed Specifications
The structure and cladding consist of completely pressure-treated timber, designed for long-lasting durability.
Our sheds are built using fully pressure-treated V Lap timber (16mm) as standard, with a finished thickness of around 12mm.
Our fully pressure-treated V Lap timber is characterised by a small V shape at the cladding top that contributes to a thicker, more durable shed.
Our sheds are now also available in Log Lap cladding, contact us for a free quote.
Standard in our shed designs are braced doors, equipped with a slide bolt lock for added security, 3 T-hinges and 2 turn buttons. We can even make your shed with double doors for a small additional fee.

If in stock, you will have the option to order the hinges and slide bolt in either Black or Galvanised Steel.
The shed floor, elevated 2″ off the ground, features an 18mm oriented strand board on 50mm x 50mm runners. This provides a robust and steady foundation for construction.
The shed frame, made from fully pressure-treated 50mm x 50mm timber, is designed for stability. Wall battens, evenly placed every 2ft or less, anchor the wood to prevent twisting due to the timber cladding’s contraction and expansion. Corner braces are also included in the frame to prevent the structure from leaning.

The shed roof, standard with an 11mm oriented strand board (OSB), is overlaid with Granite Grey Mineral Slate Ultrapol SBS Polyester Mineral Roofing Felt and finished with matching fascias.
